  2. Quite simply going through the arduous process of preparing fava beans for the first time. They are delicious, but amazingly time consuming, and what starts as a large bag of fresh pods ends up as a horrifically small bowl of shelled, skinned beans.

  3. lol. Fresh soaked pods in the blue bowl, horrifically small skinned beans in the small metal one?

  4. Something like that. The complete pods themselves are enormous too, but they are not in the photo. So you go from this 8 inch long pod, to large beans, to very small skinned beans. And it all takes a quite a while.
