So long USA... March 2010.

My last meal in the US. I know, I know.

My last meal at Whole Foods. Delish mini macaroni salad.

Greetings from Moscow SVO!

I’m alive! And dare I say what possibly none before me ever have...I quite enjoyed my first flight with Aeroflot. Never mind that our hour late departure was never mentioned, and that the failure of the entertainment system was only mentioned in one terse apology (that’s right, a 13 hour flight without a single censored Will Ferrel movie!). My seat neighbor turned out to be Egyptian of all things. And an AUC student at that. She was lovely and even donated half her fish dinner to Teebs. My not remembering to order vegetarian meals meant that Teebs ate the best of all the Aeroflot passengers. Fish from the Egyptian for his first meal, shrimp bits from my across the aisle neighbors (a young couple completely infatuated with him) and smoked salmon for dessert.

Might I also add that I have never seem so many shopping bags on one flight. It seemed that the entire body of passengers had been in LA rebooting our economy.

Now I’m at the airport in Moscow, a busy, smoky, beautiful place. There’s snow outside and all the silver Aeroflot planes seem to have been painted intentionally to match the icy tarmac. I feel surprisingly comfortable here. Maybe there’s more Russia in my future...

I’m missing everyone already. My airport sendoff was perfect and my goodie bag from Leah has saved the day three times already. More later and far too many pictures of Teebs to follow.

xoxo

pomegranate magic

The thing I find most wonderful about pomegranates is the extraordinary amount of time it takes to eat one.
